Spotlight on STEM
Did you know that 50% of the Open University’s undergraduate registrations in Ireland are in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects?
We think that’s for two reasons: one, STEM careers are on the rise in Ireland. Two, we offer the best opportunity for students to learn new skills while they’re working: 80% of our students complete their studies while working at the same time.
That means we’re perfectly placed to help you improve your skills or learn new ones for a promotion or move to a career in STEM.
John D’Arcy, National Director of The Open University, says: “The Open University offers a range of qualifications in STEM subjects, and can open doors for all students to consider a career in such sectors.
Short modules or full courses can be fitted around busy, daily commitments such as childcare and work, as Open University study involve a range of online resources accessible on tablets, phones and mobile devices, as well as regular interaction with tutors and course-mates.”
