As The Open University celebrates its 50th anniversary, Peter Twining, Professor of Education (Futures), will deliver his inaugural lecture on what the future holds for schools.
Discussing fundamental problems in the current education system, Professor Peter Twining will explore elements of a system that is more fit for purpose. Having held many positions in relation to teaching and education, Professor Twining has brought in over £10million of external funding to the Open University, most of which focussed on issues to do with the purposes of education, the management of educational change, and enhancing education systems. This was informed by understandings of learning, pedagogy and the potentials of digital technology.
Particularly passionate about enhancing education systems – especially for school-age learners – Professor Twining will be holding a panel discussion during this lecture to examine ICT in schools.
