Undergraduate
As an international student, you’ll pay the same fees as undergraduate students in England.
With the OU, you’ll study on a module-by-module basis, meaning you’ll only pay for your modules as you study them.
Most of our students study part time, taking one 60-credit module a year. Our fee for a 60-credit module is £3,168*.

Additional costs
- Your course may require you to attend additional residential school visits to the UK: if so, this will be mentioned on your course page. In such cases travel and accommodation aren’t included in your course fees. These additional schools will apply, for example, with the MBA programme and the environmental science degree.
- A fee is also payable for exams that are taken outside stated countries/territories. See exams and assessments for further information.
- There may be additional costs associated with study such as a computer, travel, study days, set books and internet access.
- Modules may be available to you to attain professional accreditation. These modules are in addition to those required to achieve your qualification and are paid for separately. Further information can be found in the qualification description.
Fee currencies
Although fees are shown in GB pounds, you can also pay for your fees in Euros, Danish kroner, Swedish kronor, Swiss francs and US dollars. We'll use the exchange rate that applies on the day your registration is processed, except for payments in Euros, which are subject to a monthly exchange rate. We’re guided by these exchange rates, hence it is not possible to display fees in other currencies.
Other circumstances
EU, EEA and Swiss Nationals
If you’re an EU, EEA or Swiss national or are the family member of a UK, EU, EE or Swiss national, you may be eligible to pay a UK fee if:
- You’ll be ordinarily and lawfully resident in the UK on the first day of the academic year of your module; and
- have been ordinarily and lawfully resident in the UK, Gibraltar, the EEA and Switzerland for the preceding three years of the first day of your qualification; and
- you’ve been granted Settled or Pre-Settled status by the EU Settlement Scheme and are able to provide documentation to confirm this, alongside your passport.
Nationals from countries outside of the UK, the EEA and Switzerland
If you’re a national from a country outside of the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, and you will be ordinarily resident in the UK on the first day of the academic year of your module, you may be eligible to pay a UK fee depending on the type of leave you have been granted to reside in the UK, where you have been ordinarily resident for the three years before the first day of the academic year of your module and which UK nation you are residing in as of the first day. We’ll need to see a copy of your passport and copies of your visas and Home Office documentation to support your application to pay a UK fee.
The UK Home Nation fee payable will depend on where you’re ordinarily resident in the UK. If you don’t meet the criteria to pay the UK fee, you’ll be eligible to pay a non-UK fee.
If you’re not sure whether you’re eligible to pay a UK fee, please contact us on +44 300 303 0266 before registering, so we can discuss your circumstances and advise you accordingly.
